Another week, another heartbreak. The Mem was a mix of disbelief and fury as Bristol Rovers slumped to their sixth straight defeat — this time a 2-1 loss to Exeter City that dumps us into the dreaded League One relegation zone.
It was a nightmare start. Just 11 minutes in, Caleb Watts took full advantage of our shaky backline, drilling a low shot past Jed Ward after we failed to clear our lines. Moments later, Ruel Sotiriou nearly answered back with a decent effort, but their keeper — Palace loanee Joe Whitworth — had other ideas and kept it out.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get worse, it did. Reece Cole lit up the game with a ridiculous volley just before half-time. Credit where it’s due — it was a stunning finish — but the defending? Nowhere to be seen. Cue the boos as the lads trudged off at the break.
Second half, at least there was some fight. Sotiriou gave us a lifeline in the 70th minute with a slick finish after finally breaking through, and the Mem started to believe again. Kofi Shaw even had a go with an ambitious effort, but it wasn’t to be. Exeter held firm, and the final whistle was met with more boos and heads in hands.
A performance that lacked urgency until it was too late, and the fans are rightly frustrated. Relegation is now a real threat unless Calderon finds answers — and fast.
