The Gas are moving with intent — and Millwall striker McCauley Langstaff has emerged as a serious target for Darrell Clarke’s side.
Vital Gas understands Bristol Rovers are stepping up their pursuit of the 27-year-old forward, as the club looks to add firepower following the collapse of a move for Johnson Clarke-Harris, who instead opted for a lucrative switch to Turkish outfit Pendikspor.

Langstaff, who shot to prominence with a stunning goal record at Notts County, has found opportunities limited at Millwall since making the jump to the Championship. A move this summer is looking increasingly likely, with Rovers and a number of League One clubs showing strong interest.
Importantly, a loan deal is also on the table, with Millwall open to temporary options that guarantee regular minutes for the striker. That could suit Rovers, who are managing their budget carefully while still aiming to bring in a top-level finisher.
Darrell Clarke is believed to be a long-time admirer of Langstaff’s movement, pressing intensity, and penalty box instinct — all traits that would complement the creative midfield core already in place, including the experienced Josh McEachran.
While other League One sides are circling, Rovers are hopeful that the promise of a prominent role and a manager with promotion pedigree could help sway the decision. Whether it’s a permanent or loan move, it’s clear the Gas are putting real energy into getting this one done.
Keep your eyes peeled, Gasheads — there could be goals on the horizon.
