Rovers Set for Pre-Season Clash with Yeovil – Stewart Tribute Included

Pre-season plans are starting to take shape, and Bristol Rovers have just confirmed a friendly away at Yeovil Town on Saturday 19th July – kick-off at 3pm at Huish Park.

It’s a decent test on the road for Darrell Clarke’s lads as they gear up for the 2025/26 campaign. Yeovil may have finished 18th in the National League last season, but they’re only a year removed from promotion and will be eager to put on a show in front of their home fans.

What really makes this fixture special, though, is that it’ll be dedicated to Marcus Stewart – a proper football man and someone who’s given so much to both clubs. Stewart had memorable spells with the Gas and Yeovil during his playing days, and later worked as Assistant Manager at Rovers (2013–18) before heading to Huish Park, where he served as Head of Player Development for three seasons. He left Yeovil earlier this month, making this tribute all the more fitting.

A good run-out, a proper nod to a club legend, and (hopefully) a bit of summer sunshine – what more could you ask for?
