As a lifelong Gashead, it's moments like these that fill you with pride and excitement for the future. Two of our own, Kofi Shaw and Taylor Moore, have been shortlisted for the 2025 EFL Awards, and let me tell you, it's absolutely deserved.
In what's been a stretch of dark days for Rovers fans, it's nice to finally have some positives to shout about. The mood around the club has been low, with frustration and disappointment lingering in the stands. These recognitions remind us that even in tough times, there's always something – or someone – to believe in.
Kofi Shaw: From Academy to Acclaim

Kofi's story is straight out of a football fairytale. After being released from West Brom's academy, he could have faded into the background—but instead, he found a home at Bristol Rovers. Watching him grow through the youth system has been nothing short of inspiring. His senior debut last season gave us a glimpse of the magic he brings to the pitch. With five solid first-team appearances this season and a loan spell at Yeovil Town that’s seen him notch up two goals in 16 games, he’s proving he’s got the grit and talent to make it big. Nominated for League One Apprentice of the Season, Kofi is the embodiment of hard work paying off.
Taylor Moore: Defender with a Difference
Then there’s Taylor Moore. Signed in June 2024, Taylor has not only bolstered our backline but also stepped up as a community leader. Nominated for League One Community Player of the Year, his work around mental health awareness has made a real impact. He’s a reminder that footballers can be heroes off the pitch too. We need more players like Taylor, who see the badge as more than just a shirt but as a commitment to the people who wear it in the stands every week.
A Glimmer in Tough Times
These nominations aren’t just personal wins for Kofi and Taylor—they're a rare bright spot in what's been a tough spell for the club and its fans. While we might not be a club on the up right now, these moments give us a reason to hold our heads high. .
