The wait is over – the 2025/26 Sky Bet League Two fixtures are out and it’s starting to feel real again. After a rollercoaster of recent years, this season feels like a fresh start, a new chapter. And judging by this fixture list, we’re going to need every ounce of belief, grit, and support from the terraces of The Mem and beyond.
🔵 August – A Statement Start Needed
We kick things off at home to Harrogate Town on August 2nd. Not the most glamorous opener, but it's a chance to set the tone and remind the division that The Gas mean business. Then it’s straight into a hectic run – Fleetwood (A), Oldham (H), Grimsby (A) – four of our six games that month are against sides who’ll fancy their chances.

Let’s be honest: if we come out of August in the top six, we'll be flying.
🚌 Derbies, Away Days & Banana Skins
Newport away in September? That’ll be spicy. A packed away end, a narrow pitch, and a chance to rattle our noisy neighbours. There’s also a proper football league feel with Walsall, MK Dons, and Tranmere Rovers in October. If we want to be in the mix come spring, these are the months we have to dig in and grind.
December’s festive fixtures? Swindon at home on the 13th – bring it on. There’s no present like three points under the lights.
🧊 January to March – The Slog
The start of 2025 is rough. Six games in January, and some brutal away trips – Shrewsbury, Milton Keynes, Barrow. The squad depth will be tested. Then in February we’re on the road to Chesterfield, Cambridge, and Swindon – all in the same month.
It’s this stretch of the season that separates the pretenders from the promotion hopefuls.
🎯 April & May – Make or Break
Let’s hope we’re in the hunt, because the run-in is a mixed bag. Home games with Fleetwood, Tranmere, and Cheltenham – winnable, but nervy. And then, May 2nd, Notts County away – could that be the day? Automatic promotion, the play-offs, or heartbreak? You wouldn’t bet against it going down to the wire.
🔥 The Mem Must Be a Fortress
If we’re to do anything this season, we need to make our home a nightmare for visiting sides. The fixture list gives us key home clashes: Cambridge, Notts County, Swindon, Colchester. That’s where we win or lose the season.
✍️ Final Thoughts
New signings are coming through the door, the buzz is building, and the fixture list gives us hope. No one is getting carried away – but if this squad clicks, if the Gasheads rally, and if we hit the ground running in August... there’s no reason we can’t dream of a return to League One.
So, fill your diaries, book your trains, and get your voices ready.
Up the Gas. See you on the terraces.
Not a bad start that and a good chance to see Belly back 😀 UTG!
