Gas Getting Serious: Gavin Crowe to Lead Rovers’ Medical Department

It’s another move that shows just how serious Bristol Rovers are about building solid foundations under Darrell Clarke’s second spell – and it’s not even on the pitch.

Gavin Crowe, a highly respected figure in football medicine, is heading to The Mem as Head of Medical, and make no mistake – this is a major coup behind the scenes.

Injuries crippled the Gas at times last season. From key absences to fitness drop-offs late in games, we simply weren’t robust enough. Bringing in someone of Crowe’s calibre could help flip that script entirely.

You can tell Clarke wants things done right – not just passion on the pitch, but precision behind the scenes. And this move feels like another step towards building a club that’s not only competitive but sustainable.

The best teams are the fittest, and with Crowe overseeing our medical and performance departments, there’s real belief the Gas will be sharper, stronger and more resilient when the 2025/26 campaign kicks off.

It’s not just about signings. It’s about standards – and this feels like the right man to raise them.

Welcome to Rovers, Gavin. Up the Gas!
