Cup Day in Bromley – Gasheads Head South for November 1st

ree

Mark your calendars, Gasheads — on Saturday 1 November 2025, Bristol Rovers travel to Bromley in the FA Cup first round. The tie at Hayes Lane is a big opportunity for the Gas to put things right and remind everyone what they’re capable of.

Bromley are no longer the National League side many remember — they’re now an established League Two outfit, having earned promotion in 2024 and settled well into life in the EFL. That means this won’t be any sort of “banana skin” — it’s a proper test between two sides both looking to go on a Cup run.

What It Means for Rovers

After the heavy defeat to MK Dons, Darrell Clarke will want a reaction. The FA Cup offers the perfect chance to reset, rebuild confidence, and show a bit of character. Rovers have shown what they can do on their day — strong, organised, and attacking with purpose — but they’ll need to rediscover that spark quickly.

The travelling Gasheads will be there in numbers, as always, filling the away end and making themselves heard in South London. The FA Cup has always meant something special to this club — from giant-killings to unforgettable nights — and this trip will be no different.

What Bromley Bring

Managed by Andy Woodman, Bromley have built their rise on organisation, hard work and quality in the final third. They’re tough at home and dangerous from set pieces — something Rovers will need to handle well.

One to watch is striker Michael Cheek, who’s been a consistent goal threat for the Ravens and knows how to make life difficult for defenders.

For the Gas, this is all about focus, pride, and getting back to winning ways. The Cup always has its surprises — but if Rovers show their quality and discipline, there’s every reason to believe this could be the start of another memorable FA Cup journey.
