At long last, Bristol Rovers finally remembered how to win a football match

After weeks of pain, anger and soul searching, the Gas went on the road and delivered a performance that felt like a deep breath after being held underwater for far too long. A 3 nil win away at Shrewsbury. A clean sheet. And a Fabrizio Cavegn hat trick to crown it all.

From the first whistle there was an edge about Rovers that has been missing for far too long. Purpose. Intensity. Belief. When Cavegn struck the opener you could feel the release in the away end. When he doubled the lead, disbelief turned into joy. By the time he completed his hat trick, it felt almost unreal.

An away day hero performance. A striker leading the line and taking responsibility when it mattered most.

The players deserve credit. They stood up. They fought. They showed pride in the shirt and gave the travelling Gasheads something they have been starved of. Something to sing about on the long journey home.

But let us be clear. One result does not erase months of frustration. One win does not fix deep rooted issues. This is a step forward, not the final answer.

Enjoy the win. Celebrate Cavegn. Take the three points and the clean sheet.

Just do not forget why it meant so much.

Because this fanbase has been through the wringer. Because belief has been tested. Because pride has been dented.

Today, Bristol Rovers reminded us why we keep coming back.
